About us

Iceland on Your Own is run by Iceland Travel, a leading travel agency, tour operator and destination management company (DMC) in Iceland. We’re a subsidiary of Icelandair Group and have on board a great team of dedicated and enthusiastic staff, all of whom are experienced, multi lingual and well educated within the travel industry.

We only work with licensed suppliers, thus ensuring the delivery of quality services.

Our partners on the road are Reykjavik Excursions, one of Iceland’s main day tour operators in the South and SBA Norðurleið, a public transport specialist and tour organizer in the North.

The Iceland on Your Own coach fleet is modern and well equipped. The coaches are spacious, comfortable and equipped with safety belts, reclining seats, good ventilation and heating. The fleet also includes 4x4 coaches suitable for crossing un-bridged glacier rivers, hence reaching almost any destination in the highlands. And best of all, the drivers are highly qualified with years of experience, ensuring the safety of the passengers.
All tours in the southern part of Iceland are audio-guided and some routes in the North are with live guidance so you‘re not only getting from A to B, you‘re also learning a lot on the way!

Iceland Travel is a member of many domestic and international associations, e.g. the Icelandic Travel Industry Association, the Iceland Convention and Incentive Bureau, the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA), the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), and many more.
